This image shows the concept of relative motion of an NYC subway car as it travels through the station. The blur effect is achieved by using a longer exposure to capture the motion of the train, but since the camera is stationary during the duration of the exposure, the background track stays in focus, as well as the people who can be seen through the windows of the speeding train.
