Abstract
Depression is a widespread diagnosis that affects individuals across all socioeconomic statuses, cultures, genders and ages. Interpersonal Psychotherapy is an evidence based intervention that is utilized to assist individuals whom are living with depression. The goals and targets of the approach will be discussed as well as desired outcomes of the intervention. The evidence that supports this approach be examined. Specific techniques employed within the intervention will be surveyed and explored. Implications for further research will be discussed in regards to enhancing empirical support with this population.
