This poster describes the impact of students' transition to high school regarding any changes in their grades, behavior, or attendance. This poster presentation is a representation of the research that Rozetta Smith has done for her master's thesis "Bridging the Transition from Middle School to High School". The presenter will engage in discussion about the research findings and what targeted areas ninth graders are having issues with as new high school students. The goal of this presentation is to analyze how ninth grade students in a suburban high school are doing in comparison to their eighth grade year and to offer suggestions for what areas our educational professionals can focus efforts to improve the transition into high school and support student success.
