Abstract
On May 1st of 2024, New Paltz Students for Palestine establish an encampment in Parker Quad, protesting the school’s financial ties to Israel in the midst of it’s genocide in Gaza. They had three demands for the university: public disclosure of all investments, disengagement & divestment from Israel (specifically calling for the termination of a $1 million contract with Siemens, a company with ties to illegal Israeli settlements in Palestine) and a promise of academic amnesty for participating students. This zine documents the encampment and the university's actions on May 2nd, which included the arrest of 133 students, faculty, and community members. It includes social media posts, official university communications, a timeline of events, and several firsthand accounts related to the arrests, injuries sustained, legal actions, destruction of student property, and sexual harassement.
