Abstract
Despite Costa Rica's privileged reputation, its inhabitants do not escape the trap of capitalism which hides behind the so called, `ecological tourism'. It's socioeconomic and environmental impact creates a dispute among public entities that represent the state and its politics, and nature advocates. In this bipartisan battle, marginalized social groups along with the environment and its ecosystems live the consequences of poor decisions every day. By submitting to these oppressive resolutions, vulnerable groups suffer the consequences of those whose aim is to satisfy their vain desires without consideration to its negative impact on third parties.
