Revision:to B.S. in Biology Adolescece Inclusive Education in Response to New York General Program Implementation: 1) Removal of PHS 210 Physics II As a,Requirement; 2) Addition of MTH 122 Precalculous as an Explicitrequirement and: 3:) Updating Gen Ed and Cognate Course Recommendations to Keep Total Credits Below SUNY's 126 Credit Maximum

Abstract

The revised General Education Program effective Fall 2023 resulted in an overall increase of 3 credits to complete the B.S. in Biol Adol Incl Education. It also revealed a "hole" in our Math requirements according to the NYS Cert requirments as only one Math course (instead of two) was articulated in the program. As such, we have eliminated PHS 201 Intro PhysicsII (4 Cr) from a program requirementand have added back in MTH 122 Precalculous (4 cr) to meet the 6 cr Math cognate credit cirteria for NYS Teacher Certification. Furthermore, The General Education and Cognate Course selection recommendationshave been updated to reflect the new General Education Program and optimzed to keep the program below 126 credits while adding as muh flexibility as possible to student choice for completion.
