Abstract
The Department of Computer Science at SUNY Brockport currently offers an undergraduate degree program leading to a B.S. degree in Computer Science (HEGIS Code 0701.00) under three distinct tracks. We propose that the Information Systems track be re-designated as a separate major in Computer Information Systems (HEGIS Code 0702.00) leading to a B.S. degree. This is only a change in the title of the program. There are no changes to the required coursework or credits. Consequently there are no resource implications. We propose the change in title for the following two reasons: for meeting the program naming criteria of the accrediting agency ABET, Inc. and for better visibility and promotion of the information systems program.
