Abstract

The Department of Counselor Education’s new MS Mental Health Counseling program (beginning fall 2007) is a 60 credit degree program. Given that our programs are set up to be taken on a part-time basis and that many of our students take courses on a part-time basis, seven years to completion of degree will allow our students the necessary time to complete their degree. Further, students enrolled in Public Administration’s MPA (42 – 45 credit program) have up to 7 years to complete their master’s degree. Thus, the department is requesting that students enrolled in the MS program be granted seven (7) years for completion of their degree.
