Abstract

This proposal introduces flexibility into the Physics program by (1) allowing upper division courses to be offered every other year and (2) creating two paths by which students can earn a BS in Physics. The Standard Track leaves the total credits in Physics unchanged, while the Advanced Track adds ten (10) additional credits of Physics, including a semester-long research project. In both tracks, 3rd and 4th year students will choose from several electives to prepare themselves for a wide variety of career paths. Lastly, splitting the 2-credit sophomore lab into two 1-credit labs will result in a slight change in the Physics Minor.
