Abstract
WHEREAS, the College's Affirmative Action Officer has formally requested hiring goals for women and minorities from each administrative and academic unit as a vital aspect of the College's general Affirmative Action Program; WHEREAS, the request for hiring goals is fully supportive of the State University of New York's principle of Full and Equal Employment Opportunity for all persons considered for employment at the College, WHEREAS , many units have begun to implement the hiring goals which were set forth as a result of this request; BE IT RESOLVED that the Faculty Senate recognizes the positive efforts of those units of the College which have responded to the request for hiring goals, and have actively begun to implement them. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Faculty Senate strongly urges those units which have not yet complied with this requirement to do so immediately.
