Description

Pugnose Shiners are small (~50 mm) minnows, distinguished by a tiny sharply upturned mouth. They inhabit lake margins or slow moving rivers with low turbidity and dense submerged vegetation in the Great Lakes & upper Mississippi basins (Doeringfeld 1993).
