Abstract

This poster presents the data of students grade 3-12 and their technological use within a Monroe County School District. The data reflects information regarding all technology, including internet access in order to obtain knowledge about the types of technology students use outside of school. With the educational system entering into the technological age it is important that the district begin to move forward with educational technology integration into their curriculum and instruction. By doing so, this would provide educational opportunities to all students and families incorporating 21st Century skills which include the use of technology, internet, a platform for learning and grading, as well as online learning. It is imperative that while accomplishing this endeavor that all families' socioeconomic status and ability to utilize the current technology is taken into account ensuring equitability among all district residents. The findings are discussed and recommendations are given to aid the school district in the implementation of their five year technology plan which includes curriculum, instruction, and professional development.
