Abstract

from the abstract, "In this report we have modelled the excess temperature and velocity fields associated with the heated discharge from a large generating station sited on a tidal estuary and used the model, together with appropriate thermal resistance data, to evaluate thermally induced mortality levels of striped bass post yolk sac larvae entrained in the thermal plume of the Consolidated Edision Inc./Power Authority of the State of New York generating facilities on the Hudson River at Indian Point (Units 2&3). . .The model further suggests that the zone of influence or withdrawal of the intakes is limited to 20-30 meters in the lateral direction."
