Abstract
The Executive Committees of the State University of New York (SUNY) University Faculty Senate (UFS) and Faculty Council of Community Colleges (FCCC) jointly affirm their support for the SUNY Board of Trustees’ proposed rule that enhances transparency, accountability, and integrity in the appointment, review, and oversight of community college presidential leadership. This proposed rule responsibly addresses long-standing gaps in policy implementation by strengthening SUNY’s oversight function under Education Law §§ 355(1)(c) and 6306(2) while honoring the vital role of local boards and the principles of shared governance.
