Abstract

Subject: Recency of Instruction (adopted by the Faculty Senate on June 1, 1968) 1) The Vice President for Academic Affairs shall have broad discretionary powers in evaluating coursework which is to be applied toward a current undergraduate Brockport degree. 2) In general, undergraduate courses may be applied toward a current undergraduate Brockport degree if they are characterized by reasonable levels of achievement and performance, and if the subject matter of the course is not in need of general updating. 3) Courses in which subject matter does require up-dating but which are not directly relevant to a student’s major, minor or certification program need not be repeated. 4) The Vice President for Academic Affairs shall consult appropriate Departmental Chairmen in designating the recency of courses to be applied toward a major, minor, or certification program. 5) At least twelve (12) credit hours of currently earned credit must be included in any academic major.
