Description
The photo illustrates the glorious colors of the fall phenomena- the changing of the leaves. As fall progresses and the nights grow longer chlorophyll production starts to slow and breaks down in leaves. Eventually the chlorophyll comes to a stop and the green color starts to give way to many brilliant colors before the leaves start to fall. Chemical changes also occur that can lead to even more vibrant colors like deep scarlets, russets, golden yellow, burnt orange, and golden bronze.
