Abstract
The proposal involves changing one theory requirement in the "Required Core", eliminating the major's "specializations,' and replacing the "specializations with the broad category of "electives"
By eliminating the "Specialization" and replacing it with "Electives," the proposal will streamline to curriculum. This will give students added flexibility and make it easier for students to complete the major in a timely manner. It also may help when others beyond the department are discussing our major with students, as the proposed curriculum is less complex. The streamlining will also proide for a more straingtforward advisement process.
