Description
Presenters: Cheryl Van Lare, FNP-BC, nurse practitioner and assistant director of the Student Health Center at The College at Brockport, has been a family nurse practitioner for 20 years and was an RN for 10 years prior. She has practiced in a variety of settings including college health (26 years); inpatient care; public health and community health nursing, including working with Rochester’s homeless community; emergency and urgent care; and as a SANE Nurse for the University of Rochester’s program. She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Rochester. She is interested and active in sustainable practices, the ethical treatment of people and animals, alternative approaches to health and wellness with an emphasis on nutrition, exercise, mindfulness and gratitude. Lynne Maier ’04, RN, BSN, is the clinic coordinator of the Student Health Center at The College at Brockport. She earned an RN diploma from the Buffalo General School of Nursing and a bachelor of science in nursing from The College at Brockport.
