Abstract
The effect of this amendment will be to allow the Appointments and Promotions Committee to designate a faculty member to serve as an observer/consultant on Search Committees. As it now reads, the Resolution permits only Appointments and Promotions Committee members to so serve. The workload of the Committee has been of such that we find it most difficult to meet the requests for observer/consultants. This amendment will allow the Appointments and Promotions Committee to draw upon faculty colleagues -when it becomes necessary -- to assist in serving on Search Committees. (Approved by Faculty Senate Executive Committee 1/20/75) Accepted by President Albert W. Brown - Effective 2/20/75
