This is the text of an address given by Daniel Holmes to commemorate the "quarter centennial" anniversary of the school since the old Brockport Collegiate Institute, a private school, became a state Normal school. It contains a good deal of detailed information about faculty and students, including a survey of students and their careers after Brockport.
Daniel Holmes was a long time member of the Board of Trustees and the husband of noted novelist Mary Jane Holmes. The couple were committed supporters of the school and today's Holmes Hall is named after them.
