Fannie Barrier Williams Building Dedication
On October 6, 2022, SUNY Brockport officially named the Liberal Arts Building as The Fannie Barrier Williams Building. Fannie Barrier Williams was the first person of color to graduate from what was then the Brockport Normal School, a teachers college, in 1870. Williams was a teacher, activist, one of the founders of the National League of Colored Women in 1887, as well as one of the founders of the NAACP.
