Fredonia State Normal School Catalog - 1937
Abstract
The State Normal School: Fredonia, NY catalog was published and created by New York State in 1937 and acted as a basic information source for potential future students. While the catalog focuses on informing the reader about what the school distributes in terms of admission, social life, sports, and expenses, it also contains an introduction that provides a more philosophical description of what the school’s curriculum has to offer. This allows us to be able to read through and see how the profession of education was viewed and displayed in the 1930s.Description
In order to draw future educators to Fredonia, as well as to potentially inspire residents of the area to enroll in the normal school, various publications were created in order to increase attendance and promote the occupation to those considering it. One of these publications, a 1937 catalog titled The State Normal School: Fredonia, New York, focuses on informing the reader about what the school has to offer.Collections
