Abstract
This minor is designed to prepare students who plan to work in LTC (long-term care) facilities such as nursing homes and to prepare them for the Nursing Home Administrator Licensure program in New York State. The minor will serve students in the Healthcare Administration Major, as well as other majors who may have a vested interest in long term care, such as nursing, social work, or other health-related majors.
This Mior has the potential to increase enrollment in the program and better prepare students for work in the profession. It also gives related majors an opportunity to learn more about an increasingly important facet of the ever-changing healthcare field. In addition, since the coursework necessary for its implementation is already in place, the minor requires no new resources to enact.
