Abstract
In July 1999 the State University of NewYork College at Old Westbury directed Gruzen Samton in association with Hudson Design and its consultant team to prepare a Campus Development Plan addressing the institution’s growing facilities needs as it prepares for expanded programs and increased enrollment. Working in close collaboration with the Campus Steering Committee a development plan was prepared encompassing a total of 172,883 gross square feet of new campus construction and recommendations for building renovation and reuse in the Academic Village, site improvements and infrastructure upgrades. The accompanying Development Plan documents these efforts and provides a series of specific recommendations to improve campus functionality, and enhance its physical image.
