Description
While many of her books are widely available, this particular one is found most often in a collection called Christmas Stories, but not often seen as an edition of its own. The story is a true one, and the only change made to the original events is to label the village of Brockport as "Carrollton."
The story tells of the Sunday School class at St. Lukes Episcopal Church and their efforts to raise money to buy a baptismal font for the church. Their efforts were successful, and the font is still in the church, which this year (2013) celebrates its 175th anniversary.
In the images gallery is posted a photograph collage of the students of Mrs. Holmes class, who feature in this story.
