    Abstract
    Valerie Taylor, current resident of Fairport, New York and Alum to SUNY Brockport, recounts her childhood and what it was like living in Fairport and Brockport. Valerie recalls how community, teachers and the hardships of youth have prepared her for her adult life and being a mother to 2 children, Jake and Autumn. To the future, Valerie discusses her expectations of her children and how attending SUNY Brockport further prepared her for her life ahead and changed her life.
