Abstract
The focus of this research is to assess the efficiency of biogas production in an anaerobic digester using a variety of food waste derived feedstocks. The food waste will be obtained from the SUNY-ESF Trailhead Cafe. The waste will be separated by “greens” and “non-greens”. The greens will include any type of leafy vegetable. The non-greens will contain any other type of vegetable and starch (bread, noodles, etc). It must be noted that no dairy or meat will be used as a feedstock ingredient. Each variety will then be tested for biogas efficiency through wet weight and dry weight calculations. Based on the findings, conclusions will be drawn and recommendations will be made.
