    Abstract
This is a feminist poem that focuses on body issues, controlling behaviors and society's way of bending identities to fit stigmas. Told through the metaphors of Chinese foot binding and the body's way of processing sugars, this poem protests the status quo of how an individual is supposed to develop their identity throughout their self-image and relationships. It was originally written as an assignment for Dr. Stephen Fellner's graduate Poetry Workshop.
