Abstract
Older Special Needs adoptions have a postive impact on familes and the community. There are thousands of children in the foster care system who desire a loving, stable, and permanent home. Unfortunetly, many of these children never find the permanency they deserve and desire and age out of the system. Aging out of the foster care system is a social problem that needs to be addressed. This research will look into the postive effects of permanency for older special needs adoptions; focusing on the postive effects for the children who are adopted through the foster care system as well as the families they are adopted into.
