With a growing influence of technology in students’ lives, cyber-bullying has become a prevalent form of social conflict among teenage youth. Cyber-bullying is defined as an “aggressive intentional act carried out by a group or individual, using electronic forms of contact repeatedly and over time against a victim who cannot easily defend him or herself” (Smith et al., 2008, p. 376). Social workers practicing within the educational setting are increasing their role as intervention strategists to address the social conflict of cyber-bullying. The purpose of this thesis is to describe best practice interventions and school strategies to help combat cyber-bullying among teenage youth. This paper also seeks to discuss various contributions, developments and policies supporting reduction of cyber-bullying rates among students.
