dc.description.abstractThis project will be an investigation into the evidence based practice of mindfulness, to be utilized with adult trauma survivors in the mental health system. Goals, targets and desired outcomes of the intervention will be explained. Mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy for severe mental illness, specifically trauma survivors, is relevant to future social work practice within the field as there is a shift towards best practices. Recommendations that will result from this project will include intervention strategies and implications for further research and enhancement of empirical support.
