    Abstract
A diagnosis of schizophrenia is a label that most people don’t truly understand and would never want to be put upon them. Those who have experienced treatment for a thought disorder are acutely aware of the traditional methods of treatment and the use of pharmaceutical drugs as a primary form of treatment. At the same time, most are unaware that schizophrenia is far from a life sentence. There exists treatment models based outside the rather outdated and hegemonic psychiatric system in the U.S. This poster seeks to engage in a short discussion of schizophrenia and contemporary treatment models available for treatment.
