Abstract
Abstract: This presentation will focus on the therapeutic intervention known as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Specifically, DBT is an evidence-based practice developed by Marsha Linehan that has been effective in treating women with a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. DBT has been found to be successful in helping individuals learn the skills necessary for emotion regulation and in helping treat those with chronic suicidal ideation. This presentation will cover the key components of the intervention and the key components for fidelity. The presentation will also touch upon the goals, targets, desired outcomes, nature of supporting evidence, as well as future research that is needed.
