Abstract
By posing the question, "are women cool?" this dance weaves masculine western cultural concepts of physicality, strength, and rebellion. The Harder They Fall pushes the boundaries of female identity by imitating and exaggerating the normative attributes seen in the existing patriarchal society of the United states through gesture, music and props to stylistically enhance the images of the dancers' identity on stage.
