SCCC’s Begley Library houses or provides access to 109,542 books in print or electronic formats, 52,328 subscriptions to print or online periodicals, as well as sound recordings. Part of the Begley Library, the Special Collections, organizes, collects, distributes, preserves and makes available institutional and community publications and other materials related to the history of SCCC and the surrounding area. In particular the Special Collections focuses on collecting materials related to the founding of the college, college publications, and to the two historic buildings on campus: Elston Hall (the former Van Curler Hotel) and the Center for Science and Technology (previously a General Electric facility and the site of early television broadcasts).
