Description
The mens basketball team of 1910. Cortland teams played basketball almost as soon as Naismith invented the game, but schedules were erratic and success uneven in the early years. The sport did not achieve a regular status until about 1908. During the next decade, Cortland basketball teams achieved good success, with a record of 84 wins and thirty losses between 1908 and 1917. The team competed mostly against high schools in the area. The Oswego and Mansfield Normal schools entered the schedule early and Brockport and Potsdam later. The team also played the Syracuse University freshman team on occasion.
