Item Rosie Rich, interviewed by Layla Taha(2019-03-18) Tynan, Jacob; Duru, Betul; Taha, Layla; SUNY BrockportRosie Rich was raised in Endicott, New York and grew up in a large Italian family that was involved in various sports. She attended SUNY Cortland, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Physical Education and Health. She then attended the University of Buffalo, where she earned a Master of Education with a concentration of counseling and international education. Her reasoning behind her masters degree was that it led to different arenas after graduation. Rich was a physical education instructor at Troy high school and SUNY Brockport for several years. She later went on to start a program of health and physical education for women in Beirut, Lebanon. During her years in Lebanon, Rich encountered challenging experiences and took on different career roles. After her experience in Lebanon, Rich published a book about her adventures and career.Item Wayne A. Dedman, interviewed by Bruce Leslie(2000-08-09) Tynan, Jacob; Leslie, Bruce; SUNY BrockportWayne Dedman was a professor of history at Brockport from 1945 to 1977. He studied at Illinois State and the University of Chicago, and received his doctorate from the University of Rochester. In this interview he discusses the changes Brockport underwent during that period, his multiple roles in the college administration, his cowriting of "Cherishing This Heritage," and his relationships with fellow staff members. Also discussed is the early culture at the college before its expansion, and the internal and statewide politics which were both causes and effects of the changes to the College at Brockport's structure and curricula.Item Robert E. Boozer graduated from Slippery Rock Universirty in 1936 with a Bachelor's in Health and Physical Education, and completed his Master's program at Springfield University in 1947. He served as a teacher, coach, and athletic administrator from 1947 to 1979.Item Haley Johnson, interviewed by Nicole Vazquez(2019-11-20) Tynan, Jacob; Vazquez, Nicole; SUNY BrockportHaley Johnson graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Arts for Children and a minor in Studio Arts. She worked as a Residence Assistant throughout her time as an undergraduate student. Since her graduation she has worked as a Residence Hall Director at Bramley, Thompson, and Mortimer Hall. As of November 2019, she currently holds that position at Mortimer Hall.Item William G. Andrews, interviewed by Bruce Leslie(2020-03-12) Tynan, Jacob; Leslie, Bruce; SUNY BrockportDr. Bill Andrews attended Cornell University from 1955-1958, where he earned his PhD in Political Science. He served as a Professor of Political Science at the College at Brockport from 1967 to 1996, also serving as the Dean in during the 1970's. He is also a scholar of the history of Brockport, and has written several published books on the town's history and development.
