Brockport's 17th Annual Diversity Conference

The Diversity Conference seeks to promote open-mindedness, celebrate diversity, and promote awareness of divergent views on our college campuses and within our communities. The conference also serves as a forum in which to establish or enhance self-awareness in relation to community building endeavors.

Cultivating diverse communities and inclusive excellence is dependent on the existence of a just and equitable environment in which every member can thrive. This year’s theme, “Intersectionality in Justice and Equity,” will highlight justice and equity as they relate to economic, social, legal, political, educational and experiential inequities, and justice struggles. We’ll explore the intersections, convergences, and alliances between systems, groups, identities, or approaches to better understand and act upon this issue of diversity.

This year’s theme, “Building Community through Diversity: Spirituality, State and Politics,” will highlight diversity as an important value in building and nurturing a community through interfaith dialogue that addresses the intersection of religion with the government and the political enterprise, as well as our growth in understanding and acting upon issues of diversity. Our Conference seeks to promote open-mindedness, celebration of diversity, and promote awareness of divergent views on our college campuses and within our communities. The conference also serves as a forum in which to establish or enhance self-awareness in relation to community building endeavors.
