In addition to fueling personal renewal, in its focus on a body of literature whose themes, history, language and ideas speak to the situation of the young, the future writers and artists, the Harlem Renaissance Seminar for Teachers gives teachers a group of wonderfully relevant texts to pass on to their students who are themselves coming of age in a pivitol moment in history.
