Located here are the remotely archived high-resolution master files that constitute issues of Erie Community College's student newspapers Buffalo Technical Institute News, Institooter, and The Element. The pages of each digitized issue are rendered in high-resolution grayscale TIFF format. These files are not accessible to the general public and are embargoed until 01/01/2050. This digitization project (no. 19-264) was performed in 2021 by the Erie Community College library staff in cooperation with Backstage Library Works, PA. These files are also locally archived on a WD Elements Basic Portable Storage drive located in the SUNY Erie Community College Archives.
In the course of this project, page images of the student newspapers Buffalo Technical Institute News, Institooter, and The Element were digitized from their original print issues and saved in PDF and TIFF file formats. The Western New York Library Resources Council's Access and Innovation Grant (no. GRT-000098) funded the project. Digital access-level copies of the newspapers image files are hosted on the NYS Historic Newspapers website. Original print copies of the newspapers are housed in the SUNY Erie Community College Archives.
