Penfield Library's Special Collections are made up of two main collections of historical material. The College Archives' purpose is to preserve and document the memory of higher education at Oswego from its influential decades under Edward Austin Sheldon forward. The Local History collection consists of primary and published sources that relate to the city of Oswego and Oswego County. Much credit for this collection goes to Oswego College faculty, especially Dr. Judy Wellman and Dr. ""Cool"" Snyder, who gathered important resources as they taught local history courses and became involved in their own research and the history of our community.
